It's just under a month now since we completed our removal and may we say how glad we were that we chose a local company with knowledge of the challenges at the Shaftesbury end. Shaun drove over to north Somerset for the estimate, and made helpful suggestions. We then used small vans over three days across the week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and this worked very well.The removal teams, led by Martin, worked very hard and efficiently, with good humour, solving problems as they went.We can't pretend there weren't a couple of small damage issues, probably caused by less experienced members of one team, but the ensuing conversation with Paul was amicable and the fault was acknowledged and accepted.We'd certainly recommend them for a move to or from this area.

used the team this week to move from Westbury to Westbury, Mark and the rest of the lads were great from start to finish. nothing was too much trouble and made the move so easy and stress free, one of the things that makes services is so good is when you have a great team who work well together and these guys were certainly that. a huge thanks to them.

The Johnsons team were not just a delight to be around, they were incredibly professional & effective. We moved a large house & garden from Surrey to Dorset and the Johnson team made a very stressful experience bearable. Mark was brilliant and led the team of Martin, Lewis and Chris calmly and diligently. The whole operation was really impressive and we felt reassured by their competence - and their pride in doing a good job. The price was quite expensive, but it was worth every penny for the peace of mind and the removal of stress. Well done Mark and team and also Paul in the office. 100% recommend.

Just wanted to thank Luke, Chris and Kevin who have helped my parents move homes last week. They were all very professional, friendly and approachable. Nothing was too much hassle for them and they did a great job moving between the two houses. Everyone was very polite and communication was great throughout. It helps that they are a happy chatty bunch too. We would not hesitate to use Johnsons of Shaftesbury again in the future and would highly recommend them to everyone who needs help moving.

A fantastic service. Nick, Lewis and Chris were amazing and really pleasant to be around. The logistical difficulties of manoeuvring our belongings into a cottage didn't phase them. Luke and his team helped my mother in law move this Friday and they were nothing short of amazing! They were careful with everything, quick and very friendly. They went above and beyond what was needed and we couldn’t have been more thankful. Luke and the team drove up to Bath to assist with our move. We initially booked with Thomas Firbank in Bath, but were told when they arrived they are part of the same group of companies and occasionally cover each others areas when times are busy.I couldn't have asked for any more from the gentlemen that arrived on the day. They moved items with care and went above what had been asked from them. I found them all to be polite, with a good sense of humour, which made it into an enjoyable experience.I'll be booking Johnson's directly in the future! Many thanks

We were recommended Johnson's by a friend who moved with them a few months back, and they were as good as our friends said. Paul originally came out to quote and discuss the process in detail which was helpful. Then on the day, Martin and his team arrived promptly, packed carefully and in the order we wanted. Wow! What a top-notch company.Not the cheapest, but certainly the best we've ever used and reinforces the old adage of 'you get what you pay for'.These guys really took the sting out of the planning and the move, with reassurance all the way - coupled with sound advice based on their immense experience.On the day of the move there were complications with the legal aspects of 'completion', which meant everything ran late (to the wire!), but Johnsons' crew for our move were both sympathetic and patient. Net result is that we still got moved in on the day, with everything intact and in it's nominated place. Thanks so much guys.Highly recommended.

I used Johnsons recently for a pick up and shipment of a few items of furniture to the United Statesand about 10-20 years ago a full household to the United States as well as some small deliveries in the UK. I was very impressed by the friendly , professional and immediate response I received and particularly their obvious familiarity with the overseas challenge of dealing with shippers and customs etc, No complaints at all. So glad I remembered their name from years ago. Nothing appeared to have changed over the years with their service. 10 stars if I could give them more than 5!! thank you

There is an element of worry in inviting perfect strangers into your home to handle almost everything you possess; treat it with respect; pack it and transport it to another destination.Johnsons team arrived with cheerful positivity dispelling our fears of the move. They were courteous, polite and quietly got on with the job. Every item was packed with the same infinite care from an antique clock to a stray empty jam jar lurking at the back of a shelf!Thoroughly professional and organised, the whole move was completed very smoothly and with plenty of good humour. We wouldn't wish to remove again anytime soon, but should we do so, then we would have no hesitation whatsoever in using the Johnson's team. We thoroughly recommend the company without reservation. Superb service.

We moved from Gillingham Dorset to West Sussex on 29th November 2021, we had quotes from other removal companies aswell as johnson's, and to be honest johnson's we're the most expensive by far, but we have moved a few times before and had bad experience, so decided to use johnson's, from the moment I spoke to the chap in there office I knew they were quality, the lorry we booked to arrive at 7.30 and it was spot on time, the removal men were polite and friendly, and loaded the lorry with the upmost care, they put sofa covers on the furniture and mattress covers on our mattress, everything was covered that needed to be, I was very worried about the move, but they put my mind at ease, as I said, they are expensive, but as they say you get what you pay for, quality service, fantastic job and really lovely men. Ten out of ten thank you guys.

100% makes to Mark, Martin and Lewis, who have just moved us from Dorset to Frome. From the moment they arrived we knew we were in safe, professional hands. Their cheerful demeanour and wonderful work ethic took our breath away. They always had a can-do attitude and were positive even when we asked them to try and put a large sofa bed into the 2nd floor bedroom.While moving is always a nightmare, Mark and his team minimised the horror of it all with good humour and grace and cannot speak highly enough of their stupendous service.The support from the office was also excellent.

I chose Johnsons of Shaftesbury for my house move because I had read good reviews about them online and, I have to say, they have lived up to all of the excellent things that have been said.As I write this they are in the middle of moving me over two days, with Day 1 being last Friday and Day 2 being tomorrow (Monday) and, I can honestly say, they are professional, reliable and offer good value for money.Sharon packed my delicate items extremely well, and took great care in so doing, while Jason and Harry set about shifting all of the furniture and boxes and were friendly, polite and efficient at all times.Yes, I can highly recommend Johnsons of Shaftesbury, you will definitely not be disappointed.Further to what I said, above, I unfortunately had to move home again much sooner than I had anticipated and, of course, there was only one removal company that I was going to use and, again, they did not disappoint.The team of Jason, Mark, Lewis and, briefly, Sean were hard-working, courteous and very helpful.Hopefully I will not have to move again for the foreseeable future but, if and when I do, I will definitely be calling upon Johnsons - the best in the west!

I booked Johnson's to move my Elderly Mother's belongings from a first floor flat to a ground floor flat in the same building. Her feedback was very positive. Initially booking two people for four hours, three people arrived ahead of time and started work immediately. They were polite, hard working and packed things that we had said we would do after the move of the larger furniture, meaning that everything had been transferred by the time they left. She was very impressed and settled in very quickly as a result. We can highly recommend Johnson's from initial contact through to completion of the work.

We had a positive experience with Johnson's. Booking our move was easy and trouble free. The team arrived on time to move us thirty miles. Loading the vans went smoothly and quickly and everyone was polite, helpful and efficient. At both houses sheeting was laid to protect the carpets. Unpacking was marginally less efficient as some boxes ended up in the wrong rooms, although clearly labelled, hence four stars. Overall we would recommend Johnson's removals.

Johnson’s did a cross county removal for me from the Midlands and I cannot fault them! Right from the initial phone call with Tom, their patience was amazing! The 2 removal guys were impeccably polite and helpful (when I would have wanted to swear at me!!) and were extremely careful. Nothing was too much trouble and they laid out mats to protect my carpets in the new house without being asked. I would highly recommend and will definitely use them again if I move, although hopefully it won’t be for a while. Thank you!!

We have moved several times, but this move was without doubt, stress free thanks to the professionalism and commitment and friendliness of all the team. Nothing was too much trouble, our possessions were very carefully packed, and we have no hesitation in recommending Johnsons.2021, our third move with Johnson’s was once again to their exceptionally high standard, so much so, we would not consider using anyone else to move us. Our contents had to go into storage, kept safe in individual containers in the Johnson’s secure store. We would not consider using any other firm to help with our move.July 2021, we asked Johnson’s to move our workshop contents from one location to 2 other locations. Again, the team were the best to work with and justified all our previous reviews. We simply would not dream of asking anyone else. Professional, very hard working, polite, respectful of our property, and very pleasant to work with.

This is the 3rd time we have used Johnson's to move house. Each time they have provided an excellent packing service and are professional throughout. In particular the team leader Mark was great at assessing the situation both at the start and finish houses and directing the others as required. I can't recommend this Company highly enough!They helped move my elderly parents from Dorset up to Surrey over three days last week. They were very nervous and apprehensive of the whole move but within 5 minutes of Jason & Martin arriving from Johnson's, they had put their minds at ease. Jason & Martin were really appreciative of what this move was all about having chatted with my parents before they got started and this made the whole process so much easier to deal with; they were friendly, considerate, clean and tidy... and fun!Everything was wrapped and packed carefully, pictures were removed from walls, all the packing boxes were clearly labelled. When the furniture was moved into the new home it was all placed exactly where my parents wanted it placed.What was going to be a fairly traumatic process in my parents eyes, turned out to be relaxed, easy and trouble free. This was all down to Jason & Martin; nothing was too much trouble and they couldn't do enough for my parents.Thank You!

We needed our house packed up, put into storage, then delivered to our new house two weeks later. I couldn’t recommend Johnson’s more highly - they were professional, friendly, reliable and quick; a real pleasure to work with. Fantastic company and service. Our move to the new address was delayed as we only received our new keys at 5pm. It resulted in off loading our goods in the dark and then they even came back the next day to finish it off ! All carefully dealt with, no damage and a great team doing the work. We have had nothing but superb service from Johnsons from beginning to end. The initial quotation was reasonably priced and we received plenty of useful information about moving on the day this was assessed. The move itself went completely without hitch, wrapping and packing couldn’t have been done with more care, and nothing was too much trouble for the cheerful, friendly teams who packed and delivered the boxes. It is difficult to say how Johnsons could have made our move any easier for us. On requesting a quote we could see then how efficient they were going to be as Shaun came to assess the following day and an emailed quote arrived later that same day. This encouraged us to accept the quote, despite it being slightly more expensive than a competitor. Queries to Johnson's before the move were answered promptly and efficiently.On the day before the move the team arrived very punctually to do the packing, sussed what was necessary and got on with it. The men were courteous, friendly and helpful and were considerate of our need to clean behind them, so they cleared each room in turn. They left us that evening with essentials necessary for a comfortable evening and a good night's sleep.The following day the packing was completed and the considerable amount of outside and garage items were quickly despatched into a small additional van. We left the house at 11am for our 20-mile move and had barely collected the keys to the new house when the vans arrived. At the new house boxes and furniture were put where specified and the job was soon done.We had opted for Johnsons' packing service and this was well worthwhile. Everything arrived unscathed, down to the smallest glass ornament. How we would have coped if we had had to pack ourselves doesn't bear thinking about!We felt we had a really good service from Johnsons. Their efficiency, professionalism and value were first class. The team were easy to have around - and did appreciate cups of tea, biscuits and pasties!!All in all, a fantastic service and well deserving in every aspect of the five stars we've awarded them. Absolutely delighted with Johnsons. Incredibly professional from the first phone call, through to eventually getting our ridiculous sofa up the stairs and into our flat. Would definitely recommend, and will certainly be using them again for our next move.

The Johnsons team arrived at the pre-arranged time and place, and carried out all the tasks involved, including some heavy lifting, taking great care of precious items, and placing them where we needed them. Simply superb. The guys that dealt with our removal from London to Dorset were so hardworking. What helped us most was how chilled they all were in what is an inevitable stressful time for us. No breakages and every possession cared for. These people are true professionals and we cannot recommend them highly enough. They may not be the cheapest but they are truly worth every penny spent.

Luke and Jason were absolutely brilliant - so efficient, on a really stressful day - they inadvertently made it much less so, particularly as we have two little children to sort out too! I cannot recommend Johnsons more highly. And Jonathan was very patient and helpful in terms of managing it and the admin.

We were let down at the last minute and turned to Johnsons for help. Survey at 3pm quote by 08.00 the next day. Two Van's and 5 men and every person we have come into contact with has been amazing. I could not be more impressed with Johnsons. From my first contact (having been recommended by friends who used Johnsons previously) they have been flexible, efficient, adaptive, and highly professional. Efficient surveys were conducted and the house was packed up over two days by an absolutely brilliant team for whom I am full of praise. Johnsons is an absolute joy to do business with and I could not recommend them more highly.And now our move is complete. We stored our stuff with Johnsons in Gillingham for about 6 weeks and now it has just been delivered to our new house. The team of three, led by Mark who has been in charge throughout the move, were absolutely brilliant, as they have been throughout packing up originally, moving to storage, moving a minimum load to the new house and this week completing the move with all our stuff from the warehouse in Gillingham. We have been impressed by the care taken in packing up - not a single breakage - and the care taken in carrying heavy loads all round the house. No damage to freshly decorated walls, doors etc. Well done to Rich who made a considerable number of crates to move mirrors, with no damage at all. They are all real professionals. And everyone is so polite ,friendly and caring. They really are a joy to work with. Nothing was too much trouble for Mark and his team packing and delivering the loads, and the Gillingham office, Paul and Johnathan, have been flexible and adaptable throughout what is usually a pretty stressful business with constantly changing dates etc. I would recommend Johnsons without hesitation - absolutely brilliant! Johnsons packed everything up, moved me, and unpacked it all in a single day. Three chaps did all of the hard work on my behalf. Nothing damaged. The best thing which I really appreciated was putting together all the furniture in my new house (beds x2, dresser, office desk, sofa) which saved me a lot of hassle. Friendly and efficient service without drama. Also £600 cheaper than the quote from a competitor who pulled out with a week to go. What's not to like?

Johnsons did a part-move for me, a 200 mile trip. The packing and loading was very efficient, and (despite some delays en route) the men were still cheerful and helpful at the other end. Altogether impressive from enquiry to delivery. I will use them for the second half of the move later.
